System Monitoring, Simplified.

Active and Passive Monitoring

The worst feeling in the world is realizing that your servers are down. Gardisto is a lightweight, open-source, simple, yet robust solution for peace-of-mind when running multiple Linux servers. Rather than checking dashboards or web apps, Gardisto monitors your servers behind the scenes, and will send you an email if a problem, or potential problem, is detected.

Gardisto beta ver. 0.2 has just been released! This means that we are ready to monitor your assets, but more features are coming. Next release will include snoozing alerts for hosts, amongst other things. If you find any bugs or have any suggestions, please email us at Gardisto.Org.

Operations Database

Part of any good infrastructure is asset tracking. Gardisto's database allows a Linux admin to track hosts, both baremetal and virtual, and instantly access crucial details from the Gardisto terminal. From the terminal interface, assets can be easily added, removed, checked, or edited with simple terminal commands.

Simplicity is the name of the game. Whenever you add another tool to your repertoire, the last thing you need is to have to learn it. From installation to maintenance, the goal has been to keep it as simple as possible. You shouldn't need to take a class or buy a $100 textbook every time you add functionality to your stack. Whether it's a hobby rack or a SMB stack, Gardisto will keep you sleeping well at night.

How to install

For complete instructions, head over to Github and follow the readme carefully. This project is tracked by a private git repo and copied to Github for distributions. For any issues, please email me.

Into a fresh RHEL/Debian based system, from a clean install, run as root:

wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/crashwny/gardisto/main/server-setup.sh

bash server-setup.sh

You will have to input a password for the gardisto user and enter the FQDN or IP address that the gardisto server can be reached by satellite servers.
